The Social Options program aims to reintroduce meaningful contact for isolated clients through assisting gradual integration back into their local community according to client needs.
Current vacancies in the Social Options Program may include:
Friendly Visiting - volunteers visit isolated clients in their own homes to reintroduce meaningful contact within each clients life for 2 hours a fortnight. Volunteers can also take clients out to local venues or events using Council Pool Cars.
Barker Blokes - a lunch club for men that have become isolated. Volunteers take men out in a group using Council Pool Cars to various venues. Volunteers drive as well as supervise and assist the men on the day. Any costs for entry fees or lunches for volunteers are covered by the program.
Club Links Program - a short term assistance program where volunteers help clients attend local clubs and groups and support them through the integration process until the club or group members support the client to attend the club or group.
