Keith Stephenson Park Nature Play
The 2010 Adelaide Road and Keith Stephenson Park Masterplan was a detailed plan prepared by Hilary Hamnett and Associates to enable cost effective planning to provide the basis for on-ground capital and infrastructure works for the development of the park.
Objectives of the report were:
1. to develop an arts strategy that will help create
- a sense of arrival
- a sense of place
- a statement of community identity
2. and to inform design elements for:
- markers and signage
- play structures
- street furniture
- general public art opportunities
- the overall design and materials palette
To further develop the park consistent with these objectives Council has engaged designers to develop a nature play space to enhance recreational opportunities for visitors and to complement existing park elements.
Keith Stephenson Park Nature Play concept plan
Council has engaged designers to develop a concept plan for a nature play area to be located at Keith Stephenson Park, Councils premier regional park facility.
The draft concept plan looks at how a nature play space can provide enjoyment, aid physical and mental development as well as helping to interpret the rich culture of the traditional owners to the area.
Join us for a public information and feedback session at Keith Stephenson Park where we will share with you our initial concept plan for an interactive nature play-space in the park.
The plan has been developed with considerable input from local Peramangk/Kuarna man Ivan-Tiwu Copley OAM and aims to be an all-ages educative experience in local history, culture and play.
The open day will kick off at 10am on Sunday 25th August until 12 noon and will include an informal Q&A with the designers, concept plan display, sausage sizzle and pop-up nature playspace.
Feedback on the concept plan is being sought and can be provided via the Survey Monkey link or feedback form.
