Waste Management Plan

Council recently developed a plan to improve waste management for the future of the district. The draft Waste to Resources Management Plan 2018-2025 went out for public consultation last year and received a high response from the community.

At the Council Meeting 1 July 2019 the Plan was endorsed, please find a copy below.

Waste survey results

The Waste Plan focused on three key areas: education, service provision and future needs. The majority of respondents wanted to see a higher waste reduction target than what was originally planned. Other wishes included a hard waste service, more flexible kerbside services, extra bin provision for local businesses and a move from print to online for the kerbside waste collection calendar.
