Dam Construction on land off Little Dublin Road
On 22 September 2010, the dam was officially opened by the Minister for Environment and Conservation, Minister for the River Murray and Minister for Water, Hon Paul Caica.
A 117 megalitre treated wastewater storage dam has been constructed on the north eastern corner of Little Dublin Road and Bald Hills Road. The dam will provide an important storage opportunity for treated wastewater from Councils Community Wastewater treatment plant and facilitate the reuse of up to 700 megalitres of water per year.
Council acquired the necessary land and progressed designs and approvals in 2009. Construction progressed well and was completed on time and to budget.
The general arrangement of the dam can be viewed via the following link:
Remaining works include landscaping around the newly top-soiled faces of the dam together with the construction of supply pipelines and facilities.
