Flood Plain Mapping

Council has recognised the need for an updated Floodplain Mapping Study to be completed due to continued growth of the Mount Barker township since the last comprehensive study was undertaken in 1986.  This will enable Council to properly manage the risks from stormwater.  The requirement to undertake floodplain mapping for Mount Barker township and the implementation of identified works through the preparation of a Stormwater Management Plan has been include within Council's Emergency Risk Management Plan July 2008 and endorsed by Council at its meeting of 3 November 2008.

Australian Water Environments have been engaged to undertake the floodplain study.  Council has been successful in obtaining a subsidy from the Stormwater Management Authority.
