Hampden Road Upgrade
Construction is now completed including new drainage, kerbing, footpaths and road pavement. Landscaping will be undertaken shortly to complete the project.
All original road materials were reused in the project with excess material used to build the BMX track in Nairne.
This project provides access to school facilities with improved parking, and improvements to stormwater drainiage will minimise any further flooding problems in this area.
The District Council of Mount Barker has completed upgrading the portion of the main sewer pipe network at the end of Hampden Road, Mount Barker. Further information on this project is available here.
Now these works are complete, the street upgrading is able to commence.
The street upgrading will be undertaken from the creek to Victoria Crescent and includes installation of kerbing, improvements to drainage, reconstruction of the road pavement, and a footpath to provide a pedestrian link to Victoria Crescent from the Linear Trails network and new footbridge. The cost of this project is $350,000.
Council has recently awarded the contract for this work to Neo Infrastructure (SA) Pty Ltd who has indicated a start date of 5 January 2015. The program of works is expected to be completed by April 2015, subject to weather and other unforeseen circumstances.
The trails underpass will be closed for a portion of the construction. Access to properties and business along Hampden Road will be maintained throughout the project.
