Gawler Street Pedestrian Crossing
To improve pedestrian and cyclist crossing safety, work has been completed to upgrade the Gawler Street Linear Trail Pedestrian/Cyclist Crossing located between Cameron Road and Dutton Road.
Work commended the week starting Monday 27 September 2010 with the majority of the work completed by Monday 11 October 2010. This period afforded the best opportunity for the contractor to undertake the work with reduced traffic volumes, due to the school holidays. CAMCO was the contractor undertaking work on behalf of Council.
ETSA Utilities will be upgrading the street light on the northern side of Gawler Street in mid October improving the lighting at the pedestrian/cycle crossing. This will involve the removal of one pole and replacing it with an out reach pole and light. This work should have minimal impact on traffic as the work is expected to be completed in one working day.
