Nixon Road Foot Bridge Repair
Council is reinstating the ford crossing due to damage that has occurred to the existing structure. As part of the construction, footpath approaches to the crossing will be installed along with the road blockades being replaced with an aesthetically improved fencing. Upon completion, the ford will be reopened for public pedestrian use.
Council has engaged a local contractor to undertake the works who has indicated a starting timeframe of the second week of February. Construction is expected to take around two weeks to complete, and Council anticipates the ford crossing will be re-open to the public for March 2018.
Please note that the existing crossing is still currently CLOSED due to the damage that has occurred to the ford. In the interest of your safety, Council ask that the public continue to utilise alternative pedestrian routes until the crossing has been re-opened.
Your cooperation while these projects are successfully completed for the community is appreciated.
