Railway Creek Bridge and Trail
The construction of the bridge is now complete providing a link from Power Court to Hampden Road and the new trail to Hurling Drive. The project rebuilt some of the existing trail and provided a new trail connecting to the existing trail network. Improved signage has also been installed along the trails.
The construction tender has been awarded to ISCO who have indicated works are expected to commence the week of 10 September 2014 and be completed by early November, subject to favourable weather and no unforeseen circumstances.
Work will include will installation of a steel bridge, two culverts to cross two smaller drainage channels and a rubble surface footpath.

At the Council meeting held on 3 March 2014, Council approved the construction of a footpath and bridge over Railway Creek. This will provide a link to the new bridge over the Mount Barker creek and trail along the Steam Ranger rail corridor which is currently in construction.
The project is part of the Trails Master Plan. Awarding of one for one funding from the State Government’s Local Government Stimulus Program has allowed construction of this project to be brought forward.
The work will be tendered shortly with the aim of completing construction by mid 2014.
