Sturt Street Footbridge Repairs
Council's contractor Knightworx has commenced work to repair the bridge. There will some inconvenience to pedestrians, with periods of time when the bridge will be closed to pedestrian traffic due to safety concerns with machinery working around the western approach ramp.
Council has deferred proposed repair works on the western abutment and wing wall until after winter. Repairs were proposed to commence mid to late June 2011 and finish July 2011. A contractor has been engaged to undertake the works which are now expected to be commenced as soon as winter flows have reduced to manageable volumes and work can be carried out with minimum environmental impact upon the Angas River water course
