Township Unsealed Road Sealing Program 2019/20
Road sealing works are set to begin from Monday 6 April 2020 on Daddow Road. Preliminary works such as driveway crossings and drainage will precede the pavement works. Sealing works are now schedule to commence the week of 4 May due to the current wet weather not being suitable for the sealing materials.
Roads to Recovery funded works for the Township Sealing Program are scheduled to begin Mid-April commencing with Daddow Road and Hart Road. As the weather is now beginning to turn this may affect the program pushing dates back. Works currently scheduled for completion for the end of 2019/20 financial year.
The construction program is expected to start in January 2020 and be completed by March 2020. There may be intermittent disruption to driveway access during construction works. All reasonable measures will be taken to maintain access where possible.
The Council’s Township Sealing Program for 2019/20 includes the rehabilitation and sealing of nominated roads in:
- Mill Lane
- Daddow Road
- Hart Roads
- Boomerang Road
- Snelling Road
- Proctor Road
In November 2015, the Mount Barker District Council created a new program using its funding allocation from the Australian Government’s Roads to Recovery program, aimed at sealing unsealed roads within various townships in the district.
Preliminary works will be undertaken such as geotechnical investigations and feature surveying prior to civil works commencing. Tree pruning will also be undertaken to facilitate construction and provide a clear vehicle pathway.
