Proposal to Revoke the Classification as Community Land

Notice is hereby given that, pursuant to Section 194 of the Local Government Act 1999, the Mount Barker District Council("Council") proposes to revoke the classification as community land of the Former Quarry Reserve being Allotment 53 in Deposited Plan 86227, in the area of Mount Barker, Hundred of Macclesfield Certificate of Title Volume 6119 Folio 971 offSilhouette St, Mt Barker.

Proposal

The subject land has been heavily grazed, is degraded, is steep in parts, and not needed as open space because of the amount of open space being provided in the surrounding Bluestone development. The subject land is zoned residential and subject to Revocation of the Community Land Classification, could be sold to provide funds for more pressing community facilities in this and other locations.

Site Viewing

There will be an opportunity to view the site on Monday 23 May, commencing at 10am concluding by 11am.

The viewing will commence at the reserve at the end of Sillhouette Street. If parking on Silhouette Street, please ensure that residents have access to their property.

Submissions

Council invites submissions on the proposal. The closing time for submissions is 5pm Wednesday 8 June 2016. Submissions should be marked "Proposal to Revoke Classification as Community Land – Former Quarry Reserve" and addressed to the Chief Executive Officer, Mount Barker District Council, PO Box 54, Mount Barker SA 5251 or emailed to council@mountbarker.sa.gov.au.

Consultation Period Extended

The consultation period has been exteded to 5pm Tuesday 14 June 2016.
