Adelaide Road Footpath and Bus Stop Renewal

Mount Barker District Council is committed to maintaining infrastructure throughout the district and has in place a number of renewal programs, developed to assist in prioritising and scheduling works.

The 2017/18 footpath replacement program includes the renewal of the existing footpath on Adelaide Road from the pedestrian crossing traffic lights on Adelaide Road up to bus stop 62 towards the freeway entrance with block pavement. These works will also include minor kerb renewal, installation of pram ramps at the service road and adjustments to the line marking on Adelaide Road.  Bus stop 62 will also be renewed at the same time to improve pedestrian access and safety.

Council’s contractor is anticipated to undertake these works before mid-February.   The typical hours of operation for construction, unless notified otherwise, are between 7am and 5pm, Monday - Saturday. Construction will not affect access to your property.

Sections of the footpath may be closed at times to facilitate the works and for the safety of workers and road users. During construction, a temporary pedestrian route will be established along the service road to facilitate pedestrian access.

Should you require further information or have any special circumstances that Council should be aware of during this period, please contact Council’s Project Manager, Mr Scott Thompson on telephone 8393 6424 or via email

Your cooperation while these projects are successfully completed for the community is appreciated.
