Immunisation
Mount Barker District Council supports the health and wellbeing of the community by providing a safe, accessible and cost-effective Immunisation service in order to prevent the spread of disease.
Seasonal Influenza
Free government funded vaccinations for Influenza are available from Council for the following people who are medically at risk; people with an eligible chronic medical condition, pregnant women, Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islanders (aged from 6 months), children aged from 6 months to under 5 years of age or those 65 years of age or older.
If you are not eligible for the government funded Influenza vaccine, the Influenza vaccines are $25 each - some health funds will rebate a portion of this.
The vaccine is available as a 4 strain vaccine and is recommended for everyone over 6 months of age. Please note that the Influenza vaccine is an inactivated vaccine that cannot cause Influenza.
