Travelling Instruments to Borrow

Travelling Instruments

The Travelling Instruments are a set of 7 handmade, tuned percussion instruments, designed and built by Andy Rasheed for Mount Barker District Council, with funding from Country Arts South Australia.

The instruments consist of:

  • 2 bass marimbulas,
  • 2 cajons,
  • 2 lap bongos, and
  • 1 triple bongo.

The 2 lap bongos are adaptive in design, meaning they are well suited to being played by wheelchair users, and come with a specially crafted, adjustable stand, which means they do not necessarily have to be played on the lap.

Impeccably crafted, all the instruments are lightweight, strong, and tuned to the pentatonic scale – meaning they will always sound great, no matter how inexperienced the musicians playing them!

You can apply to borrow the Travelling Instruments for your arts event, community event, workshop, or performance. Simply fill out the form below.
