Hahndorf Academy is located in a beautiful heritage building on the Main Street of Hahndorf, surrounded by gardens which also house the Bukatila studio. With over 156,000 visitors a year, Hahndorf Academy is the second most visited gallery in South Australia.
The Academy’s contemporary exhibition program involves regular rotating exhibitions, including diverse and inclusive works by both emerging and mid-career artists…while the museum tells stories of First Nations Peramangk people, German settlers, and early 19thC village life. At the front of the building a stunning shop showcases South Australian artists and makers, with a focus on the handmade – from books, prints, paintings and glassworks, to jewellery, textiles and beautiful gift ideas.
Alongside all of this, Hahndorf Academy runs regular creative workshops for the community, both in the main building and in the Bukatila Studio, as well as events held in the picturesque gardens.
