Community Plan 2044

In October 2024 Council endorsed a new Community Plan.

The Community Plan 2044 is the overarching strategic plan for Council that reflects the issues and needs of the community. It sets a vision for the district to be “the most liveable region in South Australia” and outlines the five key pillars to achieve this vision. There are multiple objectives for each pillar to explain how we will work to achieve this vision, including how we will measure success, and identifies the key strategies and action plans that will dive deeper into each of these objectives.

Community Plan 2044

The five key pillars identified in the community plan are:

  • Environment
  • People
  • Place
  • Economy
  • Leadership

The Community Plan was formed by completing an extensive and constructive community engagement of the draft Community Plan over a six week period. The final version of the document was completed and presented to elected Council Members in October 2024 in which it was successfully endorsed.

This strategic plan complies with Section 122 of the Local Government Act 1999 by:

  • Providing a vision for our District that reflects the community issues and needs;
  • Guiding Council and its community in ensuring a healthy society, economy and environment; and
  • Ensuring that Council’s vision and strategies can be aligned with operational activities and work programs.
