August 2026
The signs are up at Byethorne Park in Nairne which means the start date for the playground upgrade is edging closer.
We've been guided by the community on this renewal with local residents offering suggestions late last year on the types of equipment they'd like to see.
Work on removing the old playground structures along the boundary fence and preparing the ground for the new equipment is scheduled to start week commencing Monday 17 August weather permitting.
To keep everyone safe, the work zone - which includes the newer playground equipment and nature play area - will be fenced off while this upgrade is completed.
The new equipment is expected to arrive by the end of August which includes:
👉 Flying fox (track slider)
👉 Spinner
👉 Swing
👉 Giant treehouse system with slide
👉 Hammock
👉 Double embankment slide
We look forward to keeping you updated as the playground transforms into a more connected play space for families to enjoy.
The upgrade is expected to be completed by the end of the year.
Enhancing accessible, quality public spaces for recreation is a key place objective of our Community Plan to become the most liveable region in South Australia by 2044.
