Playing Surface Renewal - Meadows Courts
| What we're doing: | Resurfacing netball courts at Meadows Oval |
|---|---|
| How much is it going to cost: | Included in Playing Surfaces Renewal Budget |
| Timeframe: | 2026/27 |
| Background: | The multipurpose courts are due for renewal |
The current approved Meadows Netball Court Renewal project budget includes the renewal of half of the existing courts - the southern courts closest to the netball clubroom.
Given the current overall condition of the courts, they are beyond a simple acrylic surface paint renewal, as the existing asphalt surface is in poor condition. The surface needs to be scarified and path repaired, with a new approximately 40mm thick asphalt layer applied on top of the existing, with deeper repair works required in localised areas. To reduce future surface cracking and movement, a new mesh layer is to be applied between the old and new asphalt surfaces, to extend the life of this asset. Once suitably cured, a new acrylic sports surface will be applied to the asphalt, including appropriate court line marking.
This scope excludes any works relating to the existing fencing and drainage improvements.
