Arts Plan
Council endorsed the Arts Plan at their meeting on 5 December 2022 (agenda / minutes).
The Plan identifies key actions over a 5 year period to assist the development of a strong and sustainable arts sector that contributes to the economic, cultural, environmental and social fabric of the region. The three key themes of the Plan are:
- Arts and Cultural Tourism - Mount Barker district offers captivating experiences that celebrate the character of the region and contribute to the visitor economy.
- Community Arts and Cultural Development - Mount Barker district residents have access to arts activities that celebrate local identity, enhance the landscape and help residents connect with people and places.
- Creative Industries - Mount Barker district is a place where artists grow their practice, experiment and build sustainable creative businesses and where arts actively contribute to the local economy.
