Emergency REDiPlan

Emergencies may not be something we think about every day but they can happen. Knowing what to do and being ready is your best protection. With a simple plan, be prepared and cope better if an emergency occurs.

The Australian Red Cross has developed the Emergency REDiPlan to assist people to plan for any emergency. Mount Barker District Council has partnered with the Australian Red Cross to introduce the REDiPlan to Hills residents to better prepare the community in the event of a disaster or personal crisis.

If you belong to a group, you can organise a free community education session to hear about the REDiPlan. Just call 8100 4588. Red Cross Volunteers are also available to visit Individuals in their home who need assistance to develop their plan.

A range of REDiPlan resources are available. See the Australian Red Cross website to download booklets, plans, children’s activity books and more in various formats.

Funding for the REDiPlan project has been received through the Natural Disaster Resilience Grant Scheme, from the South Australian Fire and Emergency Services Commission (SAFECOM).
