Graffiti Removal

Grafitti Banner

Mount Barker District Council acknowledges that graffiti is an issue which generates widespread concern and can impact on our community in a variety of ways. Research shows that rapid response and removal of graffiti is an effective control measure.

Knowing this, a volunteer Graffiti Program was launched in 2013 and it continues to be a successful program that works closely with SAPOL.

A team of dedicated volunteers patrol Mount Barker one morning a fortnight, removing any graffiti that is identified. Currently the team is limited to removing graffiti from Council assets, signs, and SA Power Network boxes.  If the team are not able to do the clean-up, a report will be referred on to the appropriate department and council’s Rapid Response Team will attend immediately to graffiti which is offensive.

Community members are encouraged to contact Council and report graffiti. Reporting graffiti can be done by:

  • completing the online graffiti removal form;
  • using the My Local Services app on your mobile device and using the Report It feature; or
  • calling our Customer Service team on 8391 7200.

If you have been a victim of graffiti please call SAPOL on 131 444 and lodge a report.
