Sewer Maintenance Activities
Each year Council engages contractors to clean and inspect the sewer mains in and around the Mount Barker district. This work is performed as regular maintenance on the sewer reticulation network to minimise the risk of overflows due to blockages or damaged pipes.
Should access be required to individual properties, the contractor will be in contact with the property owner to discuss assess requirements.
To ensure the safety of workers and road users traffic restrictions will be in place while this work is carried out and some of this work will be performed after hours to minimise the impact on traffic flows.
Your patience and understanding while sewer maintenance is carried out is appreciated as is your cooperation with all traffic and pedestrian control signage.
24 to 25 October 2022
Sections of pipe along Alexandrina Road require cleaning, CCTV & condition assessment. This will be undertaken on Monday 24 and Tuesday 25 October. Traffic management will be in place for the safety or road users and contractors.
17 October 2022
Works to complete the CCTV and Pipe flushing along Flaxley Road in the vicinity of Stephenson Street will be completed on Monday 17 October.
11 October 2022
Pipeline Technologies will be undertaking CCTV &and pipe flushing of the effluent gravity mains along Wellington and Flaxley Roads. This will involve the roundabout at the intersection of Adelaide Rd, Alexandrina Rd, Wellington Rd & Flaxley Rd Mt Barker.
The work is programmed to commence on the week of 11 October 2022 and should be completed in one day, however this is dependent on the weather and no issues being found.
