Economic Development Strategy
On 5 September 2022, Council endorsed the Economic Development Strategy 2022-2027 following a period of community consultation in July 2022 (agenda / minutes).
The Strategy builds on the objectives of Council's previous Economic Development Strategy. There are 4 key objectives of the Strategy which are:
- Increase tourism visitation and spend
- Create and attract high value jobs
- Increase innovation
- Build city centre and village vibrancy
To achieve the objectives, the Strategy identifies actions which are built around strategic projects and partnerships within 5 key industries:
- Agriculture
- Visitor Economy
- Small Business and Property
- Creative and Digital Industries
- Education
