Community Bus

Mount Barker District Council has a Community Bus available for hire by local community groups, particularly those who are transport disadvantaged. The bus is for hire weekdays, weekends and evenings when not being utilised for regular Council services, and, when a registered and accredited Council volunteer driver is available.

The bus is air-conditioned and will accommodate 19 passengers or 15 passengers and 2 wheelchairs.

Hire Charges

Hire charges to charter the Mount Barker District Council Community Bus are:

  • $176 per full day including 100km and $1.76/km for extra kms

*prices include GST, fuel and the provision of a volunteer driver

A 12 seat bus can also be hired for $1.30/km when not being used by Council programs.

To book the Community Bus download and complete the Application and Conditions of Use Form and return to the Community Programs Unit as indicated on the form.
