Business
A strong and diverse economy is the foundation of a prosperous community.
By supporting local businesses, we create opportunities for growth and innovation, while producing high-quality local products and services.
Working in partnership with government and industry, Council is focused on attracting investment that supports a thriving circular economy — one that sustains diverse local employment and strengthens our region for the future.
We’re building on our unique economic strengths while exploring new markets and opportunities for growth. Together, we can shape a resilient, dynamic and sustainable economy that benefits everyone.
Fostering a supportive business environment helps local enterprises flourish. As our business community grows, so do local job opportunities — ensuring more residents can live and work right here in our district.
Council is an official member of the Small Business Friendly Council Program - a state-wide initiative by the Small Business Commission SA.
Being part of this program strengthens our commitment to creating a supportive, thriving environment for local entrepreneurs, employers and innovators.
As a Small Business Friendly Council, we’re committing to:
- reducing red tape and streamlining interactions with Council

This membership reinforces our dedication to achieving these economic objectives outlined in our Community Plan:

Thank you to the local businesses, partners and community leaders who help shape our economic landscape - we’re excited for what’s ahead.
