That Mount Barker will become the preferred South Australian destination for large and small businesses that are seeking to establish and/or expand in a supportive environment; one that offers access to a stable and skilled workforce; excellent physical and social infrastructure; and appropriately zoned commercial and industrial land.

Our Mission

Is to achieve the vision by adding value and working in collaboration with the business community, adjacent councils and the State Government to create a positive environment for business creation, growth of the regional economy and jobs for residents.

Achieving this Vision and Mission will contribute to Mount Barker strengthening its position as a major regional city and a great place to live, work and grow a business. The 4 key objectives of the Economic Development Strategy (EDS) are:

1. Increase tourism visitation and spend
2. Create and attract high value jobs
3. Increase innovation
4. Build city centre and village vibrancy
