The Covid-19 Pandemic has led to an increased level of isolation and anxiety for some people in the community. During this time, it is even more important to think of others, consider your actions and be patient and kind.
Think about ways you can stay connected with your family, friends and neighbours, especially those who live alone.
There are some simple things you can do each day to stay connected:
- Set aside some time each day to phone a friend or a family member.
- Go for a walk and chat to those you see along the way.
- Leave a note for your neighbour and suggest a time for a cuppa and a chat (whilst maintaining social distance).
- Volunteer (see Volunteering SA www.volunteeringsa-nt.org.au – includes pandemic volunteering opportunities)
The South Australian Government has developed the Open Your World website as a one-stop shop for how to improve your wellbeing with a range of simple activities for the whole family to do as well as information about services available. Activities include enjoying nature and the outdoors, staying fit and active, online learning and skill development as well as interactive arts projects and festivals openyourworld.sa.gov.au
