Council Meetings

Council meetings are held on the first Monday of the month, commencing at 7.00pm. The January meeting is held on the third Monday.

Due to COVID-19 restrictions for public gatherings, council resolved at the council meeting held 6 April 2020 to conduct council meetings virtually via Zoom webinar, as is now legally possible following recent variations to the Local Government Act and Regulations.

Council meetings will be accessible to the public from 6.57pm the day of the meeting with the exception of confidential items.  There is no public access to the council chambers. This does not impact the ability for the public to participate by those means allowed for in the Local Government Act i.e. petitions and deputations - see below for further information.

Details on how to connect to the council meeting webinar will be provided below no later than 5.00pm the Thursday prior to the council meeting.

Please note:
1. You are required to provide a name and email address to join the public meeting webinar as an attendee
2. Video and sound (of you) will be muted for all webinar attendees but not council members and council officers
3. The webinar will open to the public from approximately 6.57pm for a 7.00pm start
4. IMPORTANT - if you join before 6.57pm, you will be advised to wait for the meeting to be broadcast, and will automatically connect once the meeting opens for broadcasting.
5. You can join and leave the webinar at any time the webinar is open to the public
6. You will not be able to access confidential items

The council meeting agenda is available 3 clear days prior to the meeting.  An electronic copy is provided below.  The order of business outlines agenda items to be considered by council. Council meetings will be conducted via Zoom webinar.

Minutes will be posted on the website no later than 5 days after the meeting.

Public Participation During Council Meetings

At the council meeting 6 April 2020 council resolved that given COVID-19 social distancing restrictions council meetings will be conducted virtually via Zoom webinar and 'Questions from the Gallery' and 'Questions Arising from the Meeting' will be suspended. Members of the public may wish to contact a Council Member to discuss their question. The Council Member may then consider asking the question in a council meeting at 'Questions Without Notice from Council Members'.  A review of this decision is to occur in July 2020.

Alternatively, the public are encouraged to contact council staff direct by telephone during business hours or raise a customer request on line via council's website.
