Summit Sport and Recreation Park
Nestled in the heart of our vibrant community, the Summit Sport and Recreation Park (SSRP) offers a range of sporting opportunities that cater to a diverse set of interests and skill levels.
The park boasts two synthetic soccer (football) pitches, complete with clubrooms and facilities. Additionally, we take pride in our premier Australian Rules and cricket oval, accompanied by clubrooms, facilities, and practice cricket nets.
Football SA, and the Alexandra and Eastern Hills Cricket Association are licensed to operate and schedule play at the facilities. This partnership ensures that they are used effectively to promote active participation and foster sporting talent within our community. The Hills Football League, has also previously held a licence.
When the facilities are not being used by these licensee’s the SSRP is available for hire by all other entities or persons. The hire fees partially cover costs of electricity, grounds maintenance, etc.
The SSRP hosted the 2023 AFL Gather Round game between Brisbane Lions and North Melbourne Kangaroos on Saturday 14 April. See media release.
Stage 1 of the SSRP was opened in April 2021 and was funded by the Australian Government, The South Australian Government, the Australian Football League / South Australian National Football league and Mount Barker District Council.
