The project is jointly funded by the Nairne Oval Committee, Mount Barker District Council, and the Office for Recreation, Sport and Racing (State Government). The works involve resurfacing four multi-purpose courts at Nairne Oval, which are used for both netball and tennis.
State Government funding was secured in March 2026. Construction commenced with crack sealing on Saturday, 26 September 2026, followed by asphalt works, including the installation of geofabric and 40 mm of asphalt, between 16 and 20 October 2026.
The final stage of the project will involve acrylic surfacing and line marking, currently scheduled for mid to late November 2026.
