Development Approval (DA) has been obtained for the internal stairlift, and installation will be complete by December 2026.
Nairne Institute Renewal Conservation
Built in 1921, Nairne Soldiers Memorial Hall has a new lease on life following the completion of conservation works which were budgeted for as part of Council’s 2025/26 Building Renewal Program.
A heritage architect provided advice on the restoration which was undertaken by a local building contractor and included:
- Replacing deteriorated stonework and repairing mortar joints
- Repainting and repairs to the roofline and eaves to address rot and keep pests out
- Replacing parts of the upper roof and roof flashings to prevent water leaks
- Minor internal repairs
Nairne Soldiers Memorial Hall has been at the heart of the community for over a century and these works will ensure the hall’s long-term preservation and extend its lifespan.
