Maintenance Service Level

Maintaining Council’s assets is important as it ensures that our assets reach their expected useful life and mitigates the likelihood of early failure and costly renewal or replacement.

Council’s Maintenance Service Levels (MSL) summarises the maintenance activities, both proactive and reactive, for transport, stormwater, recreation and open space, and building assets.

Reactive maintenance occurs when Council assets breakdown, have wear and tear, are accidentally damaged or are affected by storm damage. Planned maintenance ensures assets meet their expected lifespan and legal requirements, preventing early failures and costly replacements.

MSL summaries are not designed to provide exact details of schedules for maintenance activities but to give the community an understanding of Council’s asset classes and some of the key activities that Council provides for their maintenance and operation.
