Springs Road Bald Hills Road Roundabout
| What we're doing: | Concept design for a roundabout at the Springs Road and Bald Hills Road Intersection to improve safety, traffic flow and intersection efficiency |
|---|---|
| How much is it going to cost: | $75,00, concept design |
| Timeframe: | 2026/27 |
| Background: | Network modelling shows the existing single lane roundabout will reach capacity in the near term. The occurrence of significant queue lengths (100+m) at peaks times on all four legs of the intersection is being observed also which reinforces the network modelling. It is important therefore to consider the concept configuration early for the dual lane device that will be required to inform both the cost to construct, plan finances, inform stakeholders and funding partners but, as importantly, any land requirements that may need acquisition negotiations prior to constructing the upgrade. |
Due to the works on Hartmann Road, the traffic count has been deferred
🚧 Traffic Count Survey – Springs Road/Bald Hills Road Intersection🚧
Temporary traffic management will be in place at the Springs Road and Bald Hills Road intersection to allow the installation of traffic counters as part of a traffic survey for the commencement of the concept design for the intersection upgrade.
🕒 When: Wednesday, 9 September 2026, between 10:30 am and 1:30 pm
During this time, reduced speed limits and stop/slow traffic control measure will be in place to ensure the safety of workers and road users while the equipment is installed. Motorists are asked to:
✅ Observe all temporary speed restrictions and traffic control directions
✅ Allow a little extra travel time
✅ Drive with caution through the work area
These works are expected to be completed within a few hours, with minimal disruption to traffic.
Thank you for your patience and cooperation while we undertake this important traffic data collection to help inform future planning and infrastructure improvements.
