Grants
Council runs a number of funding programs (see below for more information). To apply for a grant, Council provides an online grant application service powered by SmartyGrants where you can prepare and submit your application. SmartyGrants allows users to work on their application progressively and securely.
Before starting your application please read the criteria for the specific funding program. Funding and eligibility criteria apply to all grants.
If you experience any technical issues when completing your application please contact SmartyGrants on 03 9320 6888.

Community Funding and In-Kind Support Policy
At the July 2025 meeting Council adopted this new Community Funding and In-Kind Support Policy, which guides Council on how community funding (including grants, sponsorships and donations) is administered. The policy provides a strong statement of support to community leaders undertaking projects to support their communities. It also acknowledges that best practice community funding programs are integral to Council achieving our vision to be the most liveable region in South Australia.

Council's Community Grants Officer is willing and able to provide some assistance to you to apply for Council and non-Council grants. If you would like support to complete a grant application, get in contact as early as possible in your grant application process.

This report shines a light on the diversity of projects and recipients who have benefited from Council funding and in-kind support during the 2024-2025 financial year. It contains case studies, information on the range of supports Council offers as well as improvements we are working towards.
We have designed a Community Leads newsletter specifically for community groups and not for profit organisations who are working and volunteering locally. The newsletter will promote upcoming grants, training and development opportunities, and other relevant information.
