Heysen Boulevard Level Crossing Design and Construction

The Heysen Boulevard rail level crossing works have been completed and the connected road opened to traffic on 3 November 2024. This heralds the removal of a significant barrier to the safe and efficient movement of our community and will now encourage greater social cohesion and interaction.

The works included completion of the road and pedestrian paths, together with realignment of the existing Steam Ranger rail line and installation of signalling, new lighting and new landscaping.

This project was jointly funded by Council and the State Government and was finished ahead of schedule and well within budget.
