Kerbside Rubbish Collection

Correct bin placement requirements

  • The rules for placing rubbish bins on the roadside and bringing them back onto your property have changed.
  • Bins are to be placed 50cm apart where possible and 50cm from surrounding objects (poles, trees, cars etc.).
  • Bins should be placed adjacent to the kerb between 4pm the day before collection day and 6am on collection day.
  • Bins must not be left out after 11:59pm the day after they've been emptied.

Council provides a district wide kerbside collection service in line with our Waste Management Policy which comprises:

  • Residential Township: 140L weekly general waste collection, 240L fortnightly recycling collection and 240L green waste collection.
  • Residential Rural and Commercial: 140L weekly general waste collection and 240L fortnightly recycling collection.

When a kerbside collection services commences at a property, a refuse service charge is applied through Councils rates system.

From 1 October 2026, residents designated as 'township' who apply for new bins will receive a 240L green lidded bin for green waste. This applies to new bin applications only. Green bins will not be issued retrospectively.

Please contact Council on 8391 7200 if you're unsure if your property is designated as ‘township’ or refer to the frequently asked questions page.
