Village Green

In 2019 Council worked with the Nairne community to produce a concept plan for upgrading Mick Murphy Park and Market Square (Nairne Village Green) at the intersection of Jeffery Street and Princes Highway in the town centre. The plan was subsequently endorsed by Council in October 2019 (agenda / minutes).

The plan aims to make the space more functional and enjoyable for everyone. It includes:

  • Open green spaces for relaxation and community gatherings
  • An activity zone with a play area featuring accessible equipment
  • Play courts for various ball sports and activities
  • Improved pedestrian access and solutions for local parking issues
