Meet our new Biodiversity Team
Andrew and Alicia have won the newly created roles, both moving over from Council's Maintenance and Operations of Public Places team.
Andrew started at Council as a horticulture trainee back in 2015 and was offered a permanent position in 2017. He will be starting a diploma in conservation and ecosystem management to complement and build on his knowledge and skill. Alicia has been at Council for around 5 years and is completing her diploma in conservation and ecosystem management this year.
Council has recognised the need for additional resources dedicated to protect our unique biodiversity and landscape. The Biodiversity team is responsible for our natural spaces including bush sites, creeks and waterways, wetlands and roadsides. This team will complement existing environment and biodiversity programs.
Both Andrew and Alicia are extremely passionate about the environment and biodiversity and will now be able to turn that passion into on-ground results.
