Belgravia Leisure engaged as operating partner for the Summit Aquatic and Leisure Centre
Mount Barker Mayor David Leach emphasised the significance of the aquatic and leisure centre for the community's well-being and expressed confidence in the partnership with Belgravia Leisure.
“This is a vital facility for our region, and we are delighted to have Belgravia Leisure on board to manage the centre's operations,” Mayor Leach said.
“The company’s extensive experience and proven track record of successfully working with local communities to operate leisure and tourism facilities of this scale make them the ideal partner.”
With more than 30 year's experience in the leisure and recreation industry, Belgravia Leisure manages more than 250 sport, leisure, and tourism sites across Australia and New Zealand, including 20 newly commissioned facilities in the past four years. These sites include the Adelaide Hills Recreation Centre and Mount Barker Mountain Pool.
Belgravia Leisure CEO Nick Cox said Belgravia Leisure was honoured to be appointed manager and operator of The Summit Aquatic and Leisure Centre.
“Belgravia Leisure is proud to further build on our partnership with Mount Barker District Council to manage this state-of-the-art facility. This inclusive, multi-purpose venue is designed to be a community space, with facilities and activities welcoming all ages and abilities, including children, families, youth, community groups, recreational and organised sports, and those with special needs.
“We are also looking forward to providing a range of local employment opportunities in the area,” Nick continued.
“This development will be a vibrant, year-round destination that addresses many community needs, and we are looking forward to working with the council in connecting the community to leisure.”
The Summit Aquatic and Leisure Centre is located within a precinct bordered by Bald Hills Road and Springs Road, Mount Barker. The site already includes The Summit Sport and Recreation Park, a linear trail and heritage barns.
