May 2026
From Wednesday 20 May 2026, early morning construction works at the new Laratinga Wastewater Recovery Plant along Springs Road will commence.
A series of early morning concrete pours will be undertaken over the coming weeks/months. The first pour is scheduled for Wednesday, 20 May (weather permitting), with additional pours planned for Friday 29 May, Friday 26 June and Wednesday 29 July.
Work will commence from approximately 5:00am until 3.00pm on each of these days.
During this time, there will be an increase in construction vehicle movements in the area. Concrete trucks will travel from Springs Road into the treatment plant site and along the road past:
- St Francis de Sales College
- Environment Services Centre
- Laratinga Pavilion
- Community Shed
Please be mindful of increased traffic, particularly during school drop-off times and throughout the day. Noise will be kept to a minimum wherever practicable, and overall impacts are expected to be minimal.
To ensure road user/ worker safety, Altus Traffic Management will be implementing traffic management.
Please visit the LWRP project web page to find out more about the project and for updates as the works progress.

January 2026
As part of the current construction project for the Laratinga Water Recovery Plant (LWRP) Stage 1, there will be an increase in heavy vehicle movements from this week on the roadway between the Springs Road Wastewater Treatment Plant and the soil site access track located to the east of the St Francis De Sales school oval, associated with the transfer of clean soil material to the site. These activities are temporary and form part of the approved construction works, which commenced this week.
Please refer to the map which indicates the haulage route and areas where truck movements will occur.
The contractor will implement dust suppression measures, including watering and other controls as required, to minimise dust generation and impacts on surrounding areas. For safety reasons, we ask all road users, pedestrians and nearby facility users to remain aware of construction vehicle movements in the vicinity of the haulage route and to exercise caution at all times.
