When will the project be finished and what ongoing disruption will occur to residents of the main street?
The project is being delivered in stages to align with funding from Council, the Power Line Environment Committee (PLEC) and other grant provisions. Given the scale of the works, PLEC has budgeted for three six-month stages, commencing in January 2025 and expected to be completed by late 2026.
Once detailed design is finalised and the project is “shovel-ready,” Council will begin seeking funding in 2026, with construction of the main street upgrade anticipated to begin in the 2027/28 financial year.
Disruption to residents and businesses will be kept to a minimum wherever possible, and those directly affected will be notified in advance of any works that may impact access or services.
