Nuisance cats
Cats can bring a lot of joy to their owners but they can also cause a nuisance which can become a source of irritation for neighbours.
Cats must not cause a nuisance under By-law No.6 - Cats.
If a cat is causing a nuisance to you, try approaching the cat's owner in a friendly manner and discuss your concerns with them. In some cases, issues can be easily resolved because the cat owner may not realise it’s causing you problems.
If you don’t feel comfortable addressing the issue with your neighbour, you can complete and place this ‘Dear Neighbour’ letter in their letterbox which may help resolve the situation.
Should the cat continue to cause a nuisance, you can contact Council on 8391 7200.
