Please look out for additional truck movements along Bald Hills Road and when exiting and entering the Larating Wetlands Car Park.

Early works have begun on Stage 1 of the new Regional Aquatic and Leisure Centre. This will mean that there will be an increase in truck movements to and from the site on Bald Hills Road, Mount Barker. Road users are asked to please observe the traffic restrictions in place and expect minor delays while trucks are entering and exiting the site.

The Regional Aquatic and Leisure Centre has been designed as a multi-purpose, fully accessible community space, with facilities and activities for all ages and abilities including children, families, youth, community groups, recreational and organised swimming.

It will feature four pools, including a splash pad, a warm water therapy pool, and a 25m metre, 10 lane competition capable lap pool which meets SwimmingSA guidelines, allowing Mount Barker to host regional athletic meets.

Besides the four pools, the new aquatic centre will boast a gym and fitness rooms, wet and dry cafe, and community meeting rooms.

Construction of the Regional Aquatic and Leisure Centre is expected to be complete by the end of summer 2024/2025.

The Regional Aquatic and Leisure Centre project has been co-funded by the Government of South Australia’s Local Government Infrastructure Partnership Program and Australian Government’s Community Development Grant Scheme.
