Project Update February 2023
Since the project preliminary designs were endorsed by Council in September 2022, the Regional Aquatic and Leisure Centre project has achieved a number of critical project milestone achievements, including:
- In December 2022, Planning Consent was granted by the Council Assessment Panel (CAP), giving the project the first green light to proceed to the next level of design and ultimately construction. You can view the minutes and agenda the CAP meeting here: Council Assessment Panel
- The preliminary detailed design have been developed and include elevations, outline building services (mechanical, electrical, fire etc), as well as initial interior design concepts. The design team continue to collate feedback from technical and operational specialists which will feed into the next level of design.
- Commencing the procurement of a contractor for the early civil and site establish works that are scheduled to commence in early May 2023.
