Community Living Australia announcement

We are thrilled that Community Living Australia has entered into an agreement with Burke Urban Investments (BUI) to design and build a social care and health services hub as part of the first stage of the multi-staged development in the Mount Barker city centre. Construction of the $25 million development is forecast to begin in mid-2023.
Earlier this month, Council, together with Burke Urban Investments, reaffirmed their commitment to develop an integrated, mixed-use development on the long-underused piece of land in the CBD.
One of the early deliverables in the staged development is a 1,500-metre town square. Set amongst high quality, medium-rise buildings and surrounded by a variety of shops, cafes, and community facilities, the proposed town square will be a focal point of social activity and medium sized community events.
Further opportunities for community input to the detailed design, events and activities for the town square, as well as broader engagement on planned community facilities for the site will be occurring in the near future.
To support this, council will be establishing a Community Reference Group (CRG) to provide consistent input and guidance to the project.
