Asset Management Plans Consultation

Mount Barker District Council has prepared a number of Draft Infrastructure Asset Management Plans (AMPs) to meet the statutory requirement under the Local Government Act 1999.  The AMPs have recently been updated and a consolidated Strategic Asset Management Plan has been prepared which is now endorsed by Council for public consultation.

Asset Management Plans are critical for describing the services Council provides to the community from its infrastructure assets and how much it costs to provide these services. It also describes future demand requirements, lifecycle costs and risks and funding strategies for providing services. Importantly the plans also identify any actions that can be taken to improve asset management practices.

The review and update of the following infrastructure AMPs has now been undertaken:

  • Transport
  • Stormwater
  • Wastewater
  • Buildings
  • Open Space and Recreation

Copies of the individual draft asset plans are available upon request.

Council is Seeking Your Feedback

The Draft Strategic Asset Management Plan will be available during the consultation period on Council’s website and from the Civic Centre 6 Dutton Road Mount Barker and Mount Barker Library Dumas Street Mount Barker.

Council is inviting written submissions from the community on the Draft Strategic Asset Management Plan.  To provide comment on the plan you can;

  • come to a public meeting on Wednesday 27 June 2018 at 5pm where time will be available for members of the community to provide comments - please advise of your intended attendance by emailing businessplan@mountbarker.sa.gov.au or by phoning Anne Mooney on 83917256 by Tuesday 26 June;
  • provide a written submission to Council to be received no later than 5pm Monday 16 July 2018, or complete the submission form included on this page; 
  • email businessplan@mountbarker.sa.gov.au any time during the consultation process to ask a question which may assist you in your formal submission or simply to seek information on the Draft Strategic Asset Management Plan.
