New Environment Strategy

Build Sustain Dev

Mount Barker District Council is producing a new Environment Strategy to inform the implementation of the District Strategic Plan. The strategy will cover environmental pressures and opportunities in the district, and provide options for enhancing and protecting our environment in five areas: climate change & energy, biodiversity, sustainable development, water, and waste.

We want to hear from you!

In advance of preparing a first draft of the strategy, staff will be hosting three public open houses in mid-August. People are invited to drop in anytime between 3:00pm-7:00pm to learn more and to give their ideas about what they would like to see included in the strategy. Staff will be on hand to explain the process, engage discussion with community members, listen to ideas and answer questions. Note that there is no formal program or schedule so people may stop in at any time between 3:00pm and 7:00pm. Information provided will be the same at all sessions.
