A Little Bit of Luxury on Wheels

There are so many things we take for granted and one of them is having a nice hot shower!

The Mount Barker Region Ministers Fellowship has made it their task to trial a shower truck for a year for those that don’t have that luxury.

It’s an honour for us to practically assist those that are in need. Our partner, Hope Church, manage the $130,000 Aldi sponsored, ‘One Voice’ Shower Truck for South Australia. Aldi also cover fuel and registration” said Tracey-Lee, Secretary of the Fellowship.

The shower truck has been kitted out with 2 shower cubicles, solar panels and 1,000 litres of water. It also supplies soap, body wash, towels and clean under wear for those requiring freshening up.

It’s a very busy truck providing about 50 showers a week for the homeless and those in need. We are privileged to have it in Mount Barker for 2 hours each week over the coming year” said Tracey-Lee.

The Mount Barker Uniting Church will home the shower truck from 10am-12pm every Tuesday over April, May and June in 2019.

I am exceedingly grateful that 9 local churches from our Fellowship are providing a united approach to benefit the disadvantaged in our region” added Tracey-Lee.
