Notice of Works - Pochin Street Macclesfield Drainage

Mount Barker District Council is committed to maintaining infrastructure throughout the district and has in place a number of capital work programs, developed to assist in prioritising and scheduling works.

Council have a project to alleviate the primary stormwater runoff issue along Pochin St with a new drain to capture stormwater runoff coming down the bottom of Pemberton Ct and piping it down to Devereux St. This project will reduce the amount of surface water flows along Pochin St from Pemberton Ct to Devereux St.

Council are currently tendering for the works to engage a contractor for the installation of the new pipeline. It is anticipated subject to contractor availability that works will start in June 2019 subject to weather conditions.   The typical hours of operation for construction, unless notified otherwise, are between 7am and 5pm, Monday - Saturday. The project is anticipated to take up to 8 weeks to complete subject to wet weather conditions.

Traffic management will be in place during this time to facilitate the works and for the safety of the workers and road users, with the potential for road closures. During this time there will be temporary disruptions to driveway access which will be advised by the contractor. Disruptions will be minimised where possible during the course of the works.

Should you require further information or have any special circumstances that Council should be aware of during this period, please contact Council’s Project Manager, Mr Scott Thompson on telephone 8393 6424 or via email

Your cooperation while these projects are successfully completed for the community is appreciated
