Nominations for Citizen of the Year are now open
Mayor David Leach said the Citizen of the Year Awards acknowledge and celebrate exceptional residents and groups who have made a noteworthy contribution during the current year, or have given outstanding service over a number of years to their local community.
“The Awards are a way to say thank you and publically honour those who are making our local community a better place. I encourage everyone to consider the exceptional locals who are going the extra mile and make a nomination.” Mayor David Leach said.
“Nominating is an easy and straightforward process. It could be your nomination for a job well done that provides the recipient with the recognition they deserve.”
Individuals or groups can be nominated under four categories; Citizen of the Year, Young Citizen of the Year, Community Event of the Year and the award for Active Citizenship. Nominations close 17 November.
Nominations can be made for outstanding contributions and community service encompassing a wide range of areas, from education and healthcare to fundraising, charity work, voluntary services, business, sports, arts, environmental conservation, and any other endeavours that enhance the progress and well-being of our district.
